Animal products? Almost always cruelly produced. Cotton? Requires insane amounts of irrigation and pesticide. Polyesters? Petroleum. Also hideous & shiteous, but that's another story. Moving to the South Pacific and becoming a nudist? Not so practical. Starting my own flax and sheep farm and making all my own fabrics? Um, no. Continuing to buy secondhand shit? The lesser of the evils, perhaps, but not really a perfect solution either.
We're just going to have to start ponying up the cash for organically-produced bamboo fabric stuff: www.kaightnyc.com etc. etc.

And now I will go participate in the ultimate overprivileged first-world activity: I will go to the gym and then pick up the drycleaning.
