in other news, tomorrow is the two year aniv. of the death of Pope John Paul II. he is well on his way to sainthood.

First of all, you are mixing up your stereotypes: you are thinking about the wrong pope. Second, and most importantly of all, just because YOU are not religious or spiritual, or just because YOU don't understand something does not give you the right to be judgmental and defamatory...read a little into the current pope's history and understand why the stereotype is there before you ignorantly follow the flock.

Though I am not a religious person but I think that he truly brought religious harmony and tolerance of different faiths to the world. I think when he was asked about salvation in LA times he said something like 'people who have pure heart and who live just life will be saved even though they follow different faith. Because eventually they all are living their life in Christ way.' The quote became controversial within Christianity but I think it really increased my respect towards him more.
