"Destiny waits alike for the free man as well as for the enslaved by another's might."

Destiny refers to a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the cosmos.

I understand destiny. I meant does the enslaved man just wait to be freed instead of working to free himself? What if he never becomes free? You can say it was his destiny to die in slavery but if he'd been freed his destiny would have changed.
