After researching online and visiting a dozen apartment complexes in west county, I think I've finally found something that meets my criteria of being reasonably nice and not expensive. I spent my lunch break looking at three complexes today. The two in Chesterfield would be awesome if I had a roommate. Lots of space and good reviews online ( Read more... )

Just so you know, we'd practically be neighbors. On the basis of this, you may want to reconsider one of those Chesterfield apartments. Just a friendly heads-up. Cause otherwise I'll be showing up at your door wanting to borrow a cup of whatever it is that people use when they're cooking. Consider yourself warned.

Mental Note: If I get this place, I'll need a cup of whatever it is handy for Meghan.

"but I'll have to find a real gem to beat the one I saw today"

I hate to have to correct you, but in Livejournal, you should spell it "Jem". As in, "to find a real jem to beat the one I saw today".

From what I've seen, this is an established LJ convention. Ignore it at your peril.

Laundry... soltan_gris June 14 2007, 03:55:08 UTC
visit mom or find a friend who has a washer/dryer and offer to buy soap...

I'd opt for the first; mom is always happy to see you...

Or find a laudramat...btdt; NOT for me...

They do have mini coin operated laundramats in the apartment buildings. Basically I'd be sharing two washers and two dryers with the tenants in my building.

A possible upside to that: doing two loads at the same time.

A possible downside to that: wanting to do laundry and both washers are already taken. I guess plan B would be to visit mom.

BTDT...

Unless you are prepared to commit to the entire process, and watch your stuff...
I've had people start laundry and leave it; use all the machines and leave it (in one case for three days...), 'borrow' soap all the time... et al.

As a common area that gets visited by everyone, you have to go in knowing that you may see some things that you really didn't want to...
