Funeral Home Collection

The auction house where I work sometimes got a HUGE collection of antique and vintage mortuary/funeral home stuff in from a man who used to own several funeral homes.  There's so much stuff we haven't even been able to go through it all.  There's a ton of black cases full of who knows what.

Um, yeah. I kinda love how matter-of-fact all the labels are--no beating 'round the bush here!

I'm late on this so I guess the auction is over, but what auction house do you work for? I'm in STL. you_surround_me@yahoo.com

Remarkable items... How did that auction go? How did the audience react to the auction?

It actually didn't go as well as the seller hoped--prices were really low. The casket sold for about 100, the wreaths and things sold for less than 10 each, the boxes of supplies, makeup, etc sold for a few bucks each. Even that awesome bier sold for less than 150.
The folks in the audience were mostly the regular dealers. No one seemed to be really freaked out. A few people came from way out of town to buy things, so they were pretty happy with the low prices. It wasn't nearly as much fun as I thought it would be.
