First World Frustration

Last year when it came time to schedule my annual and get my birth control refilled, I put in an appointment request at Planned Parenthood of VA and ended up being off the pill for two or three weeks because they just couldn't get me in any earlier, and neither they nor my old MA doctors would call in a prescription refill for me. Hmmm. No exam offered but Planned Parenthood of Boston is having a $30 pill/patch/or ring leave your clothes on & skip the pharmacy special. I only queried them because you mentioned the cost difference, of course they didn't show the cost for a pap. I also checked my local PP website and it said to call for pricing. I hope you are able to get a sliding scale price for your exam!

The vast majority of email is passed unencrypted between servers on ye Wilde Olde Internet and can be sniffed.
This means sending personal medical information via email is illegal under HIPAA, as I understand it.
An email telling you to go to an appropriately encrypted web site, however, satisfies those requirements - since online banking/merchanting has caused web pages to have an adequate encryption standard.

Have you checked out fan free clinic? Aside from being free, birth control pills are only about $5 (ok, that's what they were 2 years ago when I stopped going bc I had insurance :)

1. If you need a ride somewhere, call Jess. We may have to ask for gas money, but she's not working during the week, and after Oct. 31 she won't be working on the weekends.

2. I'm actually not surprised that PP here is more expensive than Boston, given the political and social climate. I'm sure they don't have the same kind of funding that PPs in the Northeast have.

I'd be glad to take you on the 22nd, it's no problem at all.

That would totally rock my socks. I have to be at work at 2 that day, but the appointment is at 10:50. Assuming it's not too long, would you like to grab lunch afterward?

I have to pick up my brother at 1:45 so that works out well. I'd love to get lunch if there's enough time.
