KellySpace On Demand: Fiction 59

Hey, Monte! Remember when you pitched that Fiction 59 thing out to all of us? Well, I used it as a challenge in this year's KellySpace Survivor game.

In case any of y'all feel like light reading, here's a bunch of 59-word stories. It's cut-and-pasted from my results page, so all my comments bog down the proceedings as well.

I don't know which is worse...that the slight edit to my stolen 64 word story diminished the ending, or that the critical reviewer didn't see that mine was the best of the lot. :)

While you may have "groaned" at the ending line, rest assured that a surprising number of people fail to "get" the boy/girl/alcohol love triangle thing even with the tell tale "twist" double entendre conclusion.

This story was also written for a contest that used very strict standards of what constitutes a story: character, plot, conflict, and resolution all in 64 words or less.

Weird...never expected to hear from you.

I liked the joke, actually. It was just such a groaner. Really. I know that was your intention, so well done there. It saddens me that people don't even get it.

The story's alright, but I felt comfortable slagging on it a little because of the situation surrounding it. I'd actually be interested to see anything recent you've written, because if I remember correctly, the story Angie swiped from you is about five years old.

Cheers.
