How is it that The Human Torch can pick up and carry The Thing while flying?
The Thing weighs 500 pounds... There has never been anything said about Torchy having enhanced strength. I really doubt that his skinny arms could carry Ben Grimm...

the man can raise his internal body temp to the point where he bursts into flames. somehow I think that carrying 500 pounds of he-rock prolly isn't that big a deal.

Thats his power though... he can Flame On. That doesn't mean he can also lift 500 lbs. And look at how he's carrying the Thing. That would tear his arms right off at the shoulders. Bah.

I guess I shouldn't be arguing the plausibility of a comic book. ha ha ha.

So is The Thing's super power the ability to find pants that halfway fit?

You should get a no-prize for that one but I think there's an explaination that I read in a marvel universe back in the day that explains why he wouldn't lose his arms. I think it goes something like this: when Johny flames on he converts his entire his entire mass to a super-heated plasma form so he's not just flesh and blood anymore. Its basically more than skin deep. So I assume when he's energized his body is tougher and more durable when in this form. At least that's what I remember. I don't have the issue anymore but I bet I could look it up at Barnes and Noble later.
yeah, I'm a geek.

Good deal. I hadn't read anything like that and I checked Wiki and Marvel.com. Must be one of those well hidden facts. Cool.
