Not on the spot, but I quit a summer job in 1968 by calling them on the third day and telling them that I quit. The commute was long and the pay was lousy, $1.60 an hour, minimum wage at the time. No, I didn't regret it. I got a different ill-paying job ($1.65 per hour) much closer to home.
