I had to treat the wings so they would become strong and flexible without breaking. So far no problems

That is AMAZING and I love it.

I am curious, though: Where did you get the bat wings? I'm always a bit concerned about those, as there is some pretty disreputable business being done in trading dead bats and their parts in a lot of the world, so one has to be careful sometimes about the sources, unfortunately.

This post was made in Feb so no idea why it just got posted now.....

I bought an entire bat from a taxidermy supplier in the USA. I had preserved the wings then clipped then off to make the piece. I had also got them for the bat cage piece and shadowboxes.

I just recently became aware of the issue you speak of (bat trade) by a person who actually runs a bat rescue here on the east coast. He advised me that buying a bat from a US supplier does not guarantee that the bat was not part of the trade, he also said a lot of the USA suppliers will lie to people and say they were not killed.

Was pretty upsetting to find out about the whole trade issue actually (I am a vegetarian). I have been selling off the items already made such as the boxes, cages but stopped making new bat items since I could not contribute to such a trade.

Yeah, it's a terrible thing. :/ I'm sorry it's impacted your items like that. They really are beautiful. *sigh*
