I told a bunch of people about when you said you can't even picture my life without them, and they were all, "Oh my god, that's so sweet!"
The Mom:
Well, it's true. They've always been there. They're like your teddy bear.
Me:
Aww!
That's just SO CUTE!
Meanwhile, my mom:
Barenaked Ladies - "Are those two gay?"
Elliott Smith - "That is horrible. Please turn that $#!T off." (granted, I *was* playing "Coast to Coast", which has a pretty rough and raw mix.)
New Pornographers on Conan - "Did a cat just get run over?"
and my favorite -
Rufus Wainwright - "He sounds like a funeral dirge." Then she made the most emo face this side of My Chemical Romance.
But though I make fun, she does support me in her own way. I may never attend a Butch Walker concert with her (and since I one day plan to have his children, I should probably keep it that way), but she always encouraged me to develop my own music tastes. Though I wish she'd stop swearing that R. Kelly is the BEST SONGWRITER EVER. She knows much better than that.

BEWARE OF THE MOSHERS!! Don't even bother trying to take pictures there, unless you have some way of securing the camera to your head. Also, try not to die. Those people push unbelievably hard. I tried to push them back, and it only seems to encourage them.
Ahhh I love Green Day so much!
