I got a call from my parents while I was in class. It's highly abnormal for my parents to call me anytime before noon, so to get a call at 10:30, when they know I'm in class was pretty strage. I, of course, had to ignore it and wonder if it was what I thought it was. News coming back from the hospital that I am, in fact, an uncle finally. I got out

I think being an uncle is kind of cool. I don't really see much responsibility there at all, and it would take the burden off of me to have to produce grandkids for the parents (I have enough siblings that I'll be an uncle soon enough for sure). Plus, in small doses, little kids can be fun and cute and pleasant and other nice things, too. And as an uncle, you can get that without all the shit of taking care of them and whatnot.

(As a side note, I never want to have kids and am seriously considering getting a vasectomy)
