okay ... wow... I wanted to wait until I finished it to post a comment...but...but this is too brilliant.. Wow, I'm actually speechless. Your way of words... the way my heart breaks every now and then... wow....
THIS:
“No, I just mean, some people paint. Some people do math. I kill evil.” The next part is said only half-jokingly. “I save the world.”
They’re too comfortable and too worn out for Dean to get angry now, Sam knows, but when he speaks his voice is quietly and completely wrecked. “What do I do then?”
The light from the sunset reflects off the remaining water droplets on Sam’s skin, making them look like blood. “You save me.”
I LOVE IT... Thank you so so much already... *goes on reading*
Thank you so much for such a nice review. This scene was actually one of the first I wrote, before most of the rest of the fic, so it's really wonderful to have someone specifically point it out. I hope you enjoy the rest of the story as well!
I completely agree with the comment above and was gonna pull out the same quote for praise, but I will say instead that I was holding my breath after Dean asked what he was there for and I hope he takes what Sam said to heart and doesn't feel belittled by it, because it's all-important. I also hope Dean gets down to his usual awesomeness and gets that Hell-crap outta Sam's head, pronto!
