Just thought I would leave a short note to say how much I enjoyed the stories on your journal.
I found your journal through a friend's (Crystal). As someone looking at joining the Sydney bar, its nice to read the tales of someone enjoying themselves so much at the UK one.

Thanks for adding me, I have enjoyed reading about your adventures. Sorry for the late reply!
I am qualified as a solicitor now (as of yesterday...) Unfortunately the culture (and rules) in Australia re going to the bar is different to the UK and Ireland. Here you have to be admitted to practice as a solicitor before you can practice as a barrister. The culture is that one goes to the bar after some years practice as a solicitor, leading to an older bar, which is a tad disheartening for us types who just want to go to there asap....
Yep, Holland was pretty fun- it left me with very itchy travel feet, and a love of public international law. I sitll have the ICC website bookmarked on my computer...
I hope you are in good health and spirits, and look forward to making your acquaintance further :)
