So I am boring, so I will just talk about Lost.
I think I will be doing a Lost entry every week, so at the end of the season I can go back and read them all and make connections.
My apologies to anyone who is not a Lost fan, because clearly you are a pathetic loser.
First and foremost, Miles the Asian Ghostbuster should greatly consider being my boyfriend. I have a thing for nerds, what can I say?
So, I would just like to say, I made a huge post on the Lost messageboards last week connecting the island to Narnia, and then the next episode, we get a C.S Lewis reference! I kind of win at life. (The post I had made was my theory that time moves at a different speed on the island than in the rest of the world - like in Narnia.) Anyway, so Ben says Charlotte's full name - which is Charlotte Staples Lewis = C.S. Lewis. Also, Staples was actually C.S. Lewis's middle name, which is by far the coolest name in the universe. C.S. Lewis was famous for converting from atheism to Christianity. Hmm...
Also, that picture of Ben that Miles holds up is super creepy. See a large screenshot of it
here. He looks like he is wearing a Billy Corgan-type dress (excuse me, Gaultier) and is, for some reason, pregnant. Also, the person behind him looks like he is holding plane tickets, so this might be occurring in an airport. So strange.
So, anyway, the first flashback is of Daniel finding out the news of the wreckage. He is weeping. Why? Also, they only show his girlfriend (wife?) from the neck down, in a very intentional "Eye of the Beholder" type of way (understand that reference? I will marry you). Anyway, this leads me to believe she is someone we have seen before. But who?
In Ms. C.S Lewis's flashback, we are taken to Tunisia, where they have found polar bear remains in the sand. It is interesting that they chose Tunisia, because one of the major theories about Atlantis places it in Tunisia (read about it
here).
Now to completely blow your mind (if you haven't heard about it already... wouldn't surprise me if I were the last to know)... turn on Notepad and make sure the font is on "system" (or Word and any font in which you can see symbols if you are using Microsoft). Ok, hold down alt and type in the Lost numbers (4 8 15 16 23 42, but with no spaces) and then release the alt key. See the symbol that shows up? Now read
this.
Also, Miles Straume =
Maelström?
Hmm... I'm thinking Michael is the guy that Ben has on the boat, considering that in season 2, Ben sent him to another boat for "rescue", and we know Michael is appearing at some point this season.
Moving on... in super creepiness... when Miles is at that old woman's house busting ghosts with a vacuum cleaner (seriously, I need to get me one of those):
...when he goes upstairs, the camera focuses on a group of pictures on the wall - specifically, a large picture of a boy outside. Now, when he goes up the stairs, the photos are all in older, antique wooden picture frames. When he comes back downstairs, after the ghostbusting action, all of the pictures on the wall have changed, except for the one of the little boy outside, and the pictures are all in different, metallic, more modern frames. I can't figure that one out. Here are the screenshots:
Going up the stairs:
Coming down the stairs:
Also, the staircase looks newer and the walls look redone in the second picture. Super strange.
So, uh, the plane under the water... I think is a fake. I don't think it's some alternate dimension or anything. Also, if you watch Season 1 Episode 1, the pilot (Sean from Felicity! He is also from Heroes, and I guess he is a childhood friend of J.J. Abrams. Awesome.) is totally wearing a wedding ring. I wonder why Frank had not flown the plane that day. Maybe he was drunk? Also, I wonder who planted the fake plane... The Dharma Initiative? The Widmore Corp? And I will bet you the actual plane/island is no where near where the fake plane was planted.
Speaking of Frank - uh, he totally looks like Jacob. I think I read somewhere that the role of Jacob had not been cast yet when the first Jacob scene was filmed, so they just used one of the Lost crew members. So I think this guy was cast to look like the crew member guy. See:
So, uh, Matthew Abbadon is behind the whole freighter mission. Also, he has the creepiest office ever. Anyway, in episode 1 of this season, he comes to Hurley at the mental institution and asks him if there are any other survivors on the island. Now, if he had a crew there, wouldn't he already know that? This leads me to believe that he lost contact with his crew and they don't make it back alive. That is bad news for my ghostbusting boyfriend. I'm also wondering why his crew, except Naomi, was obsessed with the plane crash even before they were asked to go there. Frank is understandable, because he was supposedly scheduled to fly that plane. But why was Dan crying when he saw the footage? And why did C.S. Lewis have to read about the wreckage in several different languages?
(Sidenote - I tried finding a date on the Tunisian newspaper, to no avail. The top does say something about brainwashing in French. Possibly someone who speaks French can translate?)
Anyway, so when Abbadon asks Naomi about going to the island, the first thing she asks about is the 815 survivors. That so does not make sense. Ok, so the plane had gone off course, and no one had any idea where to search for it - hence the whole premise of "Lost". The plane could conceivably be ANYWHERE. Also, Abbadon says that there were no survivors of 815, so he does not think they are alive (or is saying they are not alive, at least). So when Naomi is asked to go on a mission to some random island, why is the first thought in her head that the 815 survivors are living there? That is so strange to me.
Theories, please.
One last thought - if Frank is indeed Jacob, he would probably be Ben's "man on the boat", yeah? In that case, where is Michael? Hmm...
KBYE.
