I'm mostly recovered from surgery now. I'm back to working full days, and I traded in the plaster-and-Ace-bandage cast for a neon orange fiberglass one. It's made out of the same kind of cloth and catalyst that you use to patch holes in cars when you do body work, which is vaguely pleasing to me, since I was in for a bit of body work myself. i'm really glad to hear the surgery went well, but BOY, must it suck to not be able to drive. at least that means you won't be able to get lost anytime soon. [haha.]

ps. your last paragraph is why i'll never ever be a writer.

Not driving is pretty bad, but dealing with stairs is probably worse. I caught the tip of my crutch on a step coming home from work today, and fell headfirst into a shrub.
