haven't done one of these stupid things in a while. killin time before my statistics exam:
three things you'd never guess about me:
1.) even though i have a scottish-ass last name, and i'm as white as moby dick, i'm actually hispanic. most of my family is from the dominican republic. this shares hispanola with haiti, so i always have to remind clayton that i'm not part black.
2.) i've been attacked by a shark. didn't get bit, but she rammed me real good with her snout. i had a limp for about a week afterwards.
3.) it's REALLY difficult for me to read contemporary literature. anything after like... 1970 just can't hold my interest. i'd much rather read something from back in the day. like dante or hemingway or voltaire.
three things i'd fix if god handed over the keys to the universe:
1.) the inevitable freezing of said universe. eventually all of existence is supposed to hit absolute zero in like a hundred trillion years. i think i would stop that from goin' down.
2.) internet illiteracy. holy cow i would force people to spell things right.
3.) i would tell mormons that they can drink caffeine without burning for all eternity.
three things i'm happy about right now:
1.) killer sale at the bookstore. i got 'candide', 'the sun also rises', and 'who's afraid of virginia wolf' for like 15 bucks.
2.) taught myself how to play some new songs on guitar last night. shits were hard too; damn songs had some FUCKED up rhythmic structuring. measures of 3/4 and 4/4 alternating a handful of times before a pair of 15/8 measures? as the intro? i need to learn more pop music and less experimental. fuckin tomahawk. fuckin anonymous.
3.) music in general, really. i've been getting some good, and new, tunes in my ears lately; isao tomita's avant-garde/electronic arrangement of holst's 'the planets' is fantastic; 'the rite of spring' as played by four hands was killer; and kaada/patton's album 'romances' continues to blow me away after four years.
three things i would do tomorrow if i could:
1.) make the snow hit in the morning so i wouldn't have to go to my classes.
2.) casual encounters. the documentary, not the classifieds.
3.) go hop a train. also for a documentary.
three things i love about the world:
1.) that fucking AWESOME salmon alfredo i made the other night. i finally perfected my alfredo recipe. be jealous.
2.) snow coming this weekend. snowboarding immanent?
3.) my little wiener-dachshund. yeah, i have a pet dachshund named 'zombie-dog'. you wanna fight about it? she's cooler than some of the people i've met in the past twenty-one years, i'll tell you that much.
