As an ex-bartender I can tell you that I've heard that line hundreds of times. But you probably will end up drinking again.

My hangover isn't that bad, actually... I drank a lot of water before bed last night. Thanks for the offer, though.

[He smiles to show his thanks, but can hardly keep the smile up for a second before it fades away.]

I think my case might be different, though. I really don't think that I'm going to drink again. I've never regretted something so bad in my whole life.
