"Why I Look Forward to School over the Weekend", an essay by Brendan Dailey
My weekend, in a word, blew. Why, you my ask, did it blow? Well, it all began on Saturday morning, when I went to work. I was scheduled for a 5 1/2 hour shift, from 11 - 4:30, ok fine. I'm not complaining. My problem starts when my co-worker, supposed to come in at 3, ( Read more... )

My sympathies on the work stuff.....

And, on a side note; one reason (besides the fact that you do a very fine job) that you were "elected" at the last moment to Lector today is because your mom was the person looking for a replacement and she didn't have time to find anyone else except the first and easiest person....and, so sorry for you, being related to me, but that just happened to be you! :)
So thank you very much for helping me out!!

And the work thing does stink -- especially since your boss never even told you thanks but just kind of expected it of you. Its good to be helpful and responsible, but every now and again, a thank you, or even an extra meal or a cookie or something would go a long way towards feeling better about getting stuck with all of the extra shifts. Employee appreciation and enjoying your job are big things!! (And I know because I have both!!)

I am sorry your weekend stunk.

Well you're not the only one who worked 8 hours Saturday. 'cept I was scheduled to, and I don't make $6.10 an hour, so I really can't complain. That really sux. :(

People that don't show up when they're scheduled are idiots and several other words I don't allow myself to say. It's so freaking stupid. I have a friend who's been trying to get a job all summer and has found NOTHING that will hire her, and then people like that get jobs and don't show up. It's not freaking fair.

Although another friend of mine did just get hired at a nearby McDonalds (can't remember which one off the top of my had) where you get $7.15 from your very first day. ^-^
