Linen thread

Oct 12, 2009 15:02

Hi. Someone on my friends' list was talking about linen thread and some place in the TC was mentioned. Now I've no memory of the person the comments were helpful for or the places suggested. Anyone care to re-educate me on good places to get linen thread in the Cities? Thanks in advance!

I can't reccomend any place in town, but
www.reconstructinghistory.com sells some really nice stuff. It's
expensive, but it's really strong and smooth (no slubs!) and it took
beeswax better than anything else I've used for handsewing.

Stitchville USA out in Minnetonka carries Londonderry linen thread in several weights. It's aimed primarily at the linen lacemaker types but the lighter weights work fine for sewing thread. http://www.stitchville.com/

Needlework Unlimited has a large collection of linen embroidery thread.

Nordic Needle.

Sorry, I was answering the phone when I had started posting this. These are 4 answers in response to a question I asked on Nordskogen hall. If you will be heading out there, will you give me a call? I'm not going to drive to Mtka for it, but I'd happily pay you for some if you're going to Griffin Needle. :)
