Now Vera (10 months) beeps my nose over and over, and laughs each time. If she doesn't get gentler, I think it will fall off.

Maybe you should do the *beep beep beed be...* Oooh! You broke it thing. This amuses and sometimes get's them to stop. Or makes them press more and harder... but it's still a fun game! :)
