After watching an episode of Fairie tale theatre it was time to get the kids to bed. I generally find that it is much simpler just to put on something the kids don't want to watch than to tell them it is time to shut off the tv, and the tivo had a new documentary on the battle of Stalingrad. What really works is this documentary calling "Discovering Psychology." It is the sort of thing that would've put me to sleep in high school and still does--droning voices, still black and white photos of old white guys, the works. We keep it on the TIVO as repulsion therapy--even the adults don't want to watch TV once that comes on.

Your kids are older than mine, so for us, putting on something they are not interested in, would in all likelyhood, be tramatic for them. But i will remember this for the future.
