Shout out to my UK cousins: do you guys know anyone who is looking for a companion/au pair/nanny/domestic near (or in) Manchester, UK?  At this point, I'm willing to do anything short of dealing drugs and prostitution. *rueful face*

Can't help you either, but it sounds like that would be a fun adventure. Are you going to school there, or what?

That's ok, thank you anyway. :)
Well, that's what I'm hoping-- we'll see how it works out. Fingers crossed!

i know of no-one in Manchester who would have a need, but have you thought about Spanish language teaching in schools?

It has to be Manchester I take it, because the demand for au-pairs will be significantly highly in London and the south-east I would have thought. I confess I know no-one who has gone down that route here, but if I were going to try it I would concentrate my energies on London and the Home Counties.

No, I hadn't thought of that... I'll keep that in mind.
Hm, well, I'm afraid it does have to be Manchester or at least near Manchester. London is too far away. :/ I'll give it some thought, though. Perhaps I should consider changing my plans a little.

Anyway, thanks. :)

it depends what youre looking for in terms of hours but private boarding schools need carers and live-in-housestaff, and if youre bilingual that'll help. There's nothing really like Summer Camps like you get Stateside, but the boarding schools might be worth a shot, but if this is a joint University study plan it might not give you enough free time for study.

If you need any help with anything else please feel free to ask.

Well, I am bilingual, so that part of it at least is taken care of. But, yeah, I'm not altogether sure that it would give me enough time to study. Still, it's a thought.

Thanks, I'll be sure to take you up on that. ;)

I'm so sorry about how late I am in replying! My lousy internet connection finally just decided to conk out on me the other day and I haven't been able to get online till just a few moments ago.

Thank you! Definitely appreciate the good wishes and the flapping ears! ;)
