Chik-Fil-A Has Religious Test for Employment

Local furry @bikerwalla tells me at his Chik-Fil-A job interview "as soon as I answered that I didn't attend a church, the interview was over." Um, a religious test for a fast food restaurant job? That sure sounds like discrimination on the basis of religion ( Read more... )

Sad, but perhaps not entirely surprising after their president apparently talked about his homophobia in terms of "the biblical definition of the family unit" and quipped that "thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can [...] operate on biblical principles".

Almost makes me wish we had them here, just so I could make a point of not eating there. :P

True, true... especially in California where the breadth of protection is wider.

Still, this is just one of the many questions job applicants are asked. Another that really upsets me is "can I have your facebook password", so they can see how you talk privately about your employer. I would NEVER say yes to that, but I am told that is sufficient to end many employment interviews. I think such questions should be illegal.

I would actually get up and walk out of the interview room if I was asked to give them facebook/twitter/etc credentials just so they can look me up online. What I do in my private time has no relevance to the job.
