"The ice cream is probably better at Toscanini's, but this place has an old vault that they painted with fish, mirrored, and converted into a sitting area. Sure, it's harder to chew when you're watching yourself chew, bovinely, among the seaweed and the fish, but I have warm childhood memories of hiding in here with my friends, wishing for snow.

The servers at The Friendly Toast in Portsmouth, NH are always stoned. You can see into the kitchen, and I once witnessed my server just staring at my completely finished, ready to serve order for more than five minutes before deciding to pick it up and bring it to me.
