I just read a story reporting that "Tangled" will be Disney's last fairy tale musical for the foreseeable future. The article cited a host of reasons from both Disney execs and experts. I have very little to say to this post other than, "Word."

Also, that while CGI animation can and has been at times very beautiful, I will never be as impressed by it as I am by the hand-drawn variety.

Yes, this. CGI belongs in my video games, not my animated movies, damn it.

They said that the archetype of a woman being taken care of by a prince is outdated. ahahahahahahaha oh God this would be funny if it weren't so desperately untrue--we just hide it better these days.

I too would far better be an adventurous and ambitious princess than a hot and cool brat. The former at least has agency.
