When we got Ladybug we were told she had an injured knee but that they'd fix it for us free of charge for adopting her. We'd seen it in action when she went up and down the stairs since she'd tuck her bad leg in and sometimes after a long walk she seemed in pain and would be hard to persuade to move. So we've decided to keep Ladybug. As she got more used to us and her new house she started to get more energetic and less nervous. So Zen is fine. It turns out she had crystals in her bladder, a sort of precursor to kidney stones. The key is to try to get her to pee them out which means trying to persuade her to drink a lot. So I've largely got the basement thing under control. We're taking the opportunity to do some other work we wanted down there, putting in another outlet and installing some extra lights.
