My last semester of school starts this week. That is such a weird feeling. It looks like I'm going to Galway to study this summer though, so at least I have something to look forward to this summer. Plus, I might do this Creativity study/scholarship thing with one of my favorite professors ( Read more... )

I've never been to Cork, but my brother lived in Galway for a year and loved it. (He was studying Irish music.) I've been to Galway a couple of times, and I loved it, too. FWIW. :)

Fortunately, Ireland is so small that no place is all that far from the others, so no matter where you end up, you'll certainly have easy travel to see elsewhere.

If you want more info on Galway, ask rogairedubh (that's my brother's LJ). I'm sure he'd be more than happy to help.

A friend of my studied in Galway for the 2004-2005 Spring Semester. She loved it. I've been to Galway twice and I would very happily live there. I've never been to Cork, but as the person commenting above me said, Ireland is small enough that you can get around fairly easily.

Anyway, I'm jealous!

IRELAND!!

i'd say which town depends on your personality. my experiences in cork mainly included being surrounded by crazy teens drinking, whilst galway seemed more laid back. cork is more of a busy city - galway is smaller. it's gorgeous both places, both sea-side.. though i'd say i prefer galway. like the others said, you can get anywhere easily enough, though! you simply must visit dublin. it's my favourite place.
