Since my only son was fixed when he was a year old and also has a tail, I can't suggest anything seriously, but I am sorry. That's gotta be, er, tough.

Maybe you could tell him something untrue and horrific to send him screaming back to Daddy? Like... "don't worry, honey, when the doctor burns it off, it'll stop doing that..." You know, scare the child.

I'm no mom, but I know you, and I know that you are, in a way, one of the best people in the world for him to turn to ... not just because you're his mother and he trusts you, but because I know you know all too well how it feels to develop early and feel awkward or uncomfortable about it. I know your experiences give your already-generous heart a special reserve of compassion, and I have no doubt whatsoever that it will serve you well here. You cannot protect your child from a certain amount of growing pains, but you can give him the cushion of security and knowing that no matter how he changes and no matter what he is going through, you will always be there for him.

*hugs*
