Jan's birthday party had been a private affair, for once, partly because Nate felt there really wasn't any topping the last time without massive security concerns. Which meant someone needed to pick her up, clean at least some of the cake off before it turned into a frosting based glue that beat out cement on hold. Then put her to bed so she could wake up at six in the morning, demanding attention.

Ah, the joys of parenthood.

With that taken care of, Wade had cake. Lots of cake to comfort himself with in his complete loss of manly pride. "...I'm not sharing."

Nate's eyebrows raised, in a spectacular display of Nate-ness. "I never asked," he said, amiably. "It's pink."
