Case in point, Jesse Ventura. The man had some great ideas, but as soon as he started telling people his honest opinion, they hated him.

- A good economy will make the sitting president popular, whether he has anything to do with it or not.

- A bad economy will make the sitting president unpopular, whether he has anything to do with it or not.Of course the sitting president will always try to take credit for a good economy and blame the last time the opposistion was in control if the economy is bad ( ... )

They'd rather do a "quick fix," even if it's the equivalent of a band-aid on a sucking chest wound.

They also might not address a problem at all if they think it won't become a real crisis until after their term or career is over.

People everywhere just don't seem terribly thoughtful to me. I think I've given up on them.
