Mom was able to get an appointment at Dana Farber, but not until next Wednesday.  The doctor at Worcester Medical center who diagnosed her is apparently going to try and appeal for an earlier appointment.  If this is really what they think it is, it tends to get  worse quickly and there isn't any time to lose

Ugh. How frustrating.

I've lost my "politeness" when in this kind of situation before. It's very hard to be patient when someone you love is facing a struggle like this.

My father, who made the calls to try and set up the appointments, is definitely frustrated. On the other hand, we should now have the hematologist at Worcester Medical trying to get in touch with people at Dana Farber in Boston to see if an earlier appointment can be set up.
