Dear Princess Celestria,
My friends and I have learned many new lessons about friendship while on our cross-cultural exchange program.
We learned that it’s not right to judge a person on “looking evil” or ugly. (“Twilight Sparkle, you listen to me. You absolutely must wear a black robe. Anything else would be terrible with your coloring.”)
The hourglass eyes taught me to appreciate what I have now (“Ahh, you’re all zombies! Ahhhh--ow! What did I just run into?” “That wall.” “So that’s what that wood mulch on the ground means. This is going to be difficult.”)
We learned that people aren’t very good at dealing with people they can’t easily categorize, but having to do so expands the mind and makes people think about their own biases. (“A purple dragon?! What the friendship?”)
I had always wondered, but now I understand the restrictions you have on time travel. (“Pinkie Pie, no!”) On the other hand, our misadventures were also very education. We learned that theocratic fascism is bad. (“I’m so glad we have nothing like this back home.”) People are very good at ignoring what’s right in front of them if everyone else is. (“There are ponies indoors. Why is there a pony in a black robe in the chapel?!” “You should go lie down, Brother Denubis.”) Most importantly, we learned that there is no immutable fate or destiny and the future is always what we make of it. (“Twilight Sparkle, did your curse suddenly become contagious?” “I don’t think so. Why?” “Rewind then. Rewind!”)
Your faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle
