Ah I read this earlier... ookamikagakusha August 18 2012, 02:29:41 UTC
And of course I loved it. But what surprises me is that I am not one to usually like or read things that are boy/boy...but Ling/Greed well I could not resist, it's Ling! And we all know he likes the finer things in life...Gold (Edward) is quite fine!

Greed is a greedy, greedy guy, after all.

It's kind of cool to see the aftermath of that other dubcon story you wrote. That aftermath often gets overlooked.

And oh, Ed, trying to sort everything all on his lonesome. I was rewatching the second episode of FMAB recently, and it came to the scene with the transmutation. As soon as Ed was back in his body, bleeding out from his leg, he was screaming "Help me! Mom! Somebody help me!"

And I thought, *there*, *that* moment, that's the moment when he learned, in the core of himself, that no one was ever going to come help him. That he was always going to have to find a way to fix things himself.

Well, he is trying to work through it with Ling, but, as we don't see what happens between them, it's kind of hard to decide whether it worked or not.

That's an excellent point. CoM and I have had discussions before about Ed's reluctance to involve other people (she included Roy scolding Ed about that in one of her earlier stories, actually), but I had never taken it quite to Ed losing his leg, I took it to when he tried to bring Al back (okay, just twenty minutes later? XD).

And remember, you did ask for the angsty one, which really didn't have much to do with your prompt.

Yeah- I was just watching that part, and you can almost see the moment when wee Ed realizes no one's coming, and decides if someone's going to do something about Al he'd better do it.

I wasn't surprised that this didn't quite match the prompt. :) I was kind of surprised that you picked up the prompt in the first place, since I know your feelings on the subject.

I did have that one from the library, but I use TV as background sound while I'm working on something (I sometimes find it easier to work on a piece in that fandom if I can hear the voices outside of my head, too). So I did look up when Ed was screaming and then again when he drew the circle, but not in between. :D

There are things I think I can write that I pick only to realize later that it's much harder to do than what I think. So, you get two stories out of it, a piece of smutty fluff, and this one, and neither actually fit the prompt when it comes down to it.
