[All of these reminders of Westport have been weighing heavily on the citizen's of Mayfield who remember that horrible place. Hitler has been keeping his head down and avoiding the Hazmats and Sergei as best he can. But he has been listening to the information being passed around. He's also taken to carrying around his one souvenier from Westport. ( Read more... )

... I'm not entirely sure who this Olney guy is, but anyone who would betray their friends is lower than even the lowest scum.

I- I think that it may be Officer Grady's original name.

I can't be sure, but the evidence is pretty strong.

Really? ... Then why is he known as "Grady" now?

I don't know. There's a lot we don't know.....

Were you around when the Westport thing happened?

[[HEY have a little skullfairy (like 5'0) walking by and tilting his head]]

Who's E-evan Olney?

He's... I found his badge in Westport. I think he might actually be Grady.

[Also: staring. But too polite to ask what the heck you are.]

[Hitler blnks in surprise. Whatever this guy is, he must be new.]

Grady is the police chief here. He acts as an enforcer to keep us from affecting the town.

He's the man leading the Hazmats right now.

[As Hitler stares at the police station and murmurs those words, a curtain is suddenly drawn back. Grady stares back at him, a mixture of shock and cold anger on his face.]

[There is a sort of undignified squeak, and Hitler, even though he's all the way across the street, can't help but apologize.]

S- Sorry. I'm didn't mean it like that.

[Because he didn't. Hitler may be the only person in Mayfield who feels sorry for Grady. But he still fears him. Which is why he's backing away.]

[Grady's eyes narrow into a fierce glare, and he quickly closes the curtain.

It's worth noting that he looks extremely haggard.]

[Hitler is extremely disturbed as he walks home that day.]

It's not fair to judge when I don't know what happened. But whatever it was . . .

I hope it was worth it for him.

I'm sure he had his reasons. And it's still possible that there was some kind of misunderstanding.

. . . If they were selfish reasons, then . . . Then he's the worst type of person.

But looking at all the things we've found, I think maybe . . . he was just tired of fighting.

He couldn't have known that things would turn out this way. I'm sure he wouldn't have taken a path like this on purpose.

Hitler?

[This hangout spot isn't really like him, Nigel thinks. Also he has no idea that Hitler has that badge. Which begs the question]

What are you talking about?

Nigel?

[He hesitates, wondering whether he should tell him about this. Nigel is pretty young. But, then again, they're all in the same boat here. Better that he has all the information he can get.]

I'm talking about Evan Olney. I think that used to be Grady's name.

Hmm.

Just recently, I heard of an Evan. It must be the same person.

But what makes you think that Evan is Grady?

[Oh, that's right. Nigel wasn't here for all the Westport clues. And at that time, a lot of older clues were also tossed around. Including the real names of the Mayor and Grady.]

It actually comes from several sources. A long time ago the Mayor accidentally made an unfiltered call to the town calling Grady 'Evan.' The name Evan Olney showed up on a lot of the Westport notes and letters.

And I found this badge in the Westport police station. None of it is proof, but I'm not willing to call it coincidence either....
