Considering the people wouldn't have had the choice unless the town had offered it, I would say yes.

However everything else you have a point.

I'm starting to think that the town doesn't have to do much to turn us against each other. Maybe nothing at all.....

Are you okay? You didn't get involved in all of that, did you?

You'd be surprised with how easily mobs can form.

No, I stayed home and tried to help as much as I could. No letter for me luckily.

What about you?

I didn't get one either. I stayed home most of the week.

[He did spend a lot of time listening to the phones though. This week was depressing. Even though he wasn't directly involved, a lot of what happened hit very close to home.]

Do you.... do you want to get ice-cream? Or- or something?

[He just really wants to go somewhere and do something not depressing for a while.]

Every time, the town showers us with tricks and false promises, and every time, so many fall for it.

It's becoming disappointing.

I agree. It is disappointing. I thought we'd all know better by now....

I can't help but wonder if this was the goal all along. Mayfield thrives on tearing us apart and turning us against one another, and here we are feeling contempt and fear over the actions of those who played the game. A difficult situation.

It's just like the highway again.

The town is to blame... but it's not just the town.

The town taunts people and wants them to do bad things. Still, those who go along with it are just as bad.

We have to start taking responsibility for our own decisions. The town does do bad things, but that doesn't mean we can blame it for everything.

It's too easy to convince us to kill each other. Way too easy.

We didn't all turn on each other. Some did, too many did.

We can't stop them from doing this or get away from them without beating this town. It traps us all here and we can't avoid this sort of thing if we don't get out.

I'm not giving them excuses, I am just saying the town is just as much to blame as they are.

But I wonder what would happen if everyone refused to cooperate. Not just a few people, everyone.

I guess they could drone us, but somehow I don't think they would. Not all of us.

Just blame everyone damn it!

Well... i don't think everyone is to blame. Some people spent the week trying to help others. Making the choice to ignore what the town ordered them to do and do what was right.

"This time"? Has this... erm... happened... before?

springtime4me June 5 2011, 05:30:18 UTC
Yes. This kind of thing has happened several times in the past.

Are you new around here?

Yes. I arrived only a few weeks ago...

What a terrible time to arrive...

Every so often, something strange will happen in the town. Some of the are fairly harmless, but others result in days of death and destruction. There's usually a strange phone call though, a few days before.
