ahh, i love them all! brings back a lot of memories of my southern alberta drives, the best part of my job. my favorite was always going west and getting to the wind turbines. love them.
another interesting helicopter fact: in bc they fly helicopters over cherry tree orchards after it rains to blow all the water off or else the cherries will rot!
Yes, I'm sure glad I get the western route because all four other routes are pretty boring! Although I think about what you said earlier and hope I too will gain an appreciation for all these little towns I am visiting. :p
How neat about the cherry helicopters! I might get to see that in person one day soon. :)
You know, I thought of you several times when editing that picture. :) Just out of the picture was another scrape in the paint that looked like "Tasmania on steroids", but I figured it was so far off that it would skew the perception of the rest of the picture, so I didn't include it in the picture. To make it up to you, I will pop over for a visit so I know what Tasmania looks like, and then come back and look for an accurate paint scrape. ;)
I can't remember what an Australian Magpie looks like, but I know your crows have crazy eyes. Maybe we have a variation of the magpie that has a crazy beak?
soo pretty :) dang it I want to see some hoar frost! lol
Were you asking me about the bird? lol I didn't want to answer if you meant another Deb :D And if yes send me a closer picture of the bird and I will get out my bird encyclopedia :)
I will admit I was thinking of my other Deb, but I forgot that you are into birds as well! Or at least you post pretty pictures of them. :) I don't have a closer pic, unfortunately, unless you want a blurry digital crop. I've never seen a beak like that, so it should stand out if he's in your encyclopedia. Other Deb says it is a Magpie holding something in his beak, but I took shots from different angles and it looks seamless in all of them, so I think it really is his beak!

Heee! Australia??? BUT TASMANIA IS MISSING! TRAVESTY!!!
It looks like Magpie with a long, curved beak.
It looks NOTHING like a Magpie! At least, not any that you will find in the abovementioned Australia!
Also, frost is perty!
