An epic weekend

May 05, 2010 21:05

This past weekend, Jessica (beybladesabre) came down to Lethbridge from Sylvan Lake (a five hour drive)! I've been trying to get her down here for awhile, especially after we had such a rockin' time together doing cross-country schooling last summer... ahahaha, I don't think I ever posted about that myself, but you can see Jess's post about it here if you are ( Read more... )

friends, sampson, theo, rmtc, santana, saddleseat

You and Jess together, what a fantastic mix, lol. Looks like it was heaps of fun.
God your boys are sexy too! I want a saddlebred, also your position! You look absolutely fantastic in some of these pictures with Santana, not that I know anything at all about saddleseat. He's gorgeous!
I want more of Theo though! And baby ... and kittens ...

Glad you don't think I'm an abysmal rider, haha. I'm going to really think about sitting up straight for now on, though (and not let it fall apart at the trot/canter this time!).

When he's not in motion, Santana often looks like he's made up of the halves of two different horses, hehe. But I do think he looks pretty smart here!

More Theo pics when he's no longer a lardcake, hahah! And kitten pics when I get a chance. :)

full of photo-ey goodness and SILLINESS too. always a win.

Nice to see photos of you both riding! Yes, yes you are leaning forward too much but it's clear you have a good seat and you both clearly know what yr doin'.

That is like a million photos. No wonder it took so long...

If I don't laugh, I'll cry... therefore, there must be some silliness in every day! ;)

Thankfully I have maintained a good seat without having taken regular riding lessons since I was 15 (nearly a decade!), but bad habits like leaning are bound to appear without someone on the ground to yell at me. :p I sometimes like to say I am an EFFECTIVE rider, but not necessarily a pretty one. :p

There were 70 photos here, by the way... and that was after I cut down as many as I could...

I love all of these! There is some really nice light in a lot of them, too, especially the riding photos! Nice job with the racing photos Sarah and Jess!

Thanks! Jess was fighting with the light for the pics of Santana and I, as the sun kept going behind clouds and it was later in the evening, but she did a great job! It was definitely easier for the ones of me on Sampson, as we hit the "golden hour". :) The race track light was weird both days... cloudy, then sunny, then spitting rain, then sunny again... sheesh! This weekend may see more rain or SNOW, which will be fun to shoot in... not. I've already been shown where the "raincoats" for the 7D are...

I approve of this post.
Also, we NEED to ride together.

YES, that would be quite epic as well! We'd have to do something pretty crazy to top both of our shenanigan records so far, though... :p

Your pictures are awesome!! Looks like you guys had a great weekend. The track is going to be such a great job for you!! People are going to be like "Damn that girls got talent!!" lol but we already knew that!! Can't wait to see more once the season really gets underway!!

Sam is looking great!! He is so darn cute and from pictures looks like he is coming along nicely!!..... I wonder what kind of mountain trail pony he's make (hint hint LOL)
Glad you and Jess had an awesome weekend, Love the pic of her and Sam cuddling!!

Yeah, I think I am going to enjoy the track work as well! :)

Thanks for the comments re: Sam. I have road hacked him and he has been good, so I think he would like the mountains too... but I don't think he'll get an opportunity to find out with me. Maybe his next owner! Who hopefully comes along soon, because I am feeling pretty thinly stretched with the two jobs and three horses now!
