An epic weekend

May 05, 2010 21:05

This past weekend, Jessica (beybladesabre) came down to Lethbridge from Sylvan Lake (a five hour drive)! I've been trying to get her down here for awhile, especially after we had such a rockin' time together doing cross-country schooling last summer... ahahaha, I don't think I ever posted about that myself, but you can see Jess's post about it here if you are ( Read more... )

friends, sampson, theo, rmtc, santana, saddleseat

Great pictures!
Yeah I could see from the first picture of you on him, and I said "Yep. Saddledeat horse" lol. But I also rode saddleseat for a couple years. Bend your elbows more and let him a have a longer rein, but with the same contact, that way he'll really get up in the bridle.
He prolly know how to park out too :p

Sorry, I forgot to reply to this! But I'm glad I waited because I had another go on him today and he was great! He had a very collected, slow canter and was power trotting for me again. I kept your advice in mind and I think that kept him from breaking into the canter less (he kept doing that last time as I tried to find the balance between pushing him forward and going into a faster gait). :)

Aw man, I love all of your horses! You already know I'm in love Theo and Sampson, but Santana is growing on me too! I think it's because I have never seen so many photos of that horse! Have you had any calls about Sampson?

& curious, why did you need a flash for the racetrack?

Yeah, I am a bit shy about posting pics of Santana because he is a bit funny looking (very long back and when he's standing still, it looks like his front end doesn't match his back end, lol!). But he looks nice in motion, if he is behaving! And he is a total suck on the ground... I loves him. :)

I've only had one person interested in Sampson, but I've only got him up on one site, so I am going to put him on some more tonight.

We need fill flash for the winner's circle shots because we're shooting in the middle of the day and that creates dark shadows on the people's faces. It'll fire once in my panning shots of the finish too, and it just makes things more crisp. When racing starts up on Friday nights in a couple weeks, I'll definitely need it for the last few races because it will be too dark for natural light action shots. Sucky thing is I'll only have one chance at the shot... if the flash fires and the winner is on the forehand, too bad so sad! That's the pic they get, haha!
