Haven't been twice more since I left? The green has just been transferred to you now. ;) What is so special about Queenstown in late January? We could feasibly be there then. I'm thinking of sticking around the North for the first couple months til Juli arrives, then show her the best of the North and some places I missed last time (like Coromandel) and then book it to the South for 2-3 weeks, so it'd be feasible to make it to Queenstown. I wanna go back for the extreme sports, at the very least!

Queenstown in late January
when your husband is at a conference, so SPARE TIME TO DO THE STUFF I WANTED TO DO!!!!! KIWIS. BIRDS. SITTING BY THE LAKE WITH A BEER. WANDERING AND TAKING PHOTOS. VISITING GALLERIES.

*cough*

because we could claim airfares and 5 days accommodation/food on tax? ;D

take insect repellant [see the cartoon I posted a few days ago].
just sitting by the lake with a camera.. it's never the same from minute to minute. watching the scaup. eating fresh seafood from the cart on the front. watching the base jumpers/jet boats/parasailers/'Earnslaw'/old america's Cup sailing boat/gardens/the King Edward Bath House [which is now a cafe. recommended for breakfast], paddling in the lake [10C].

I'll have to get my other computer back from my son, he has the discs of that trip in the bag...

we only go for about 10 dqays, because that's all my husband can tolerate away from home. [and all the leave he can manage at any time]

Hehe, I still have some Aeroguard "Tropical Strength" insect repellent from my trip... I will be sure to [re]pack it!

I didn't spend much time in Queenstown before and I'm sure Juli would like it, so I think we'll aim for it. Would love to see more of your pics from your time there. :)

I've always wanted to go to Ireland too, but we have winter at the same time and that's the only feasible time to travel at the moment... although if I only went for a few weeks in spring or fall, it would be doable. Because I can currently only photograph for six months out of the year thanks to our lovely weather, I need to make the most of it!

I still have to finish my blog from my last trip!!

Hahah, do you think you'll get engaged AND married in less than year? I'm only gone til February, so if so, you've got a lot of work to do in seven months, lol! I'd be honoured to be your photographer though. :)

Ya the winter thing really does kinda put a downer on it! Well I have a friend who is just waiting for her Irish passport then she's heading over there for how ever long she wants. I am most definitely planning on visiting her...... you should hop on a plane and come with me!!!!

lol with the way that cowboy thinks, you never know. It could be possible (if only I can convince myself I am ready lol). Life is full of surprises lol

My dad was born in England, so I can get citizenship in the EU (and a British passport) and stay however long I want too! I'd definitely be up for buddying up for a trip though! :)

Life is full of surprises, but the best things are worth waiting for. ;) Hmm... which cliche phrase to go with? lol!

ok you just suck. Here's a tip: If you can find a way to drive down to the States and fly from there to LA instead of flying to LA from Canada, you'll save hundreds of moola. My parents never fly from Canada when they go down to Florida.

That's what I did last time. :) My parents drove me to Spokane. Not sure if I'll do it that way again, as I COULD use Air Miles to get there (I've never spent them on anything, haha). I'd sure like to do a road trip from California back to say, Seattle (before I start hitting snow on the roads... so fly Seattle to Calgary or Cranbrook).
