A request for information
OK folk, this Twitter thing seems big. However, I've only seen people paste snippets of it in their blog. I assume that this is not normally how it works. I gather that it captures small bits of text to ... something. Is it like another blog that you log into and read your "friends list" twitter posts? So, it's like a very succinct LJ or something? It doesn't text your phone or anything, right?
Why: I'm asking because the new Lost ARG (game between seasons) looks like it may be twitter-based, and I am completely disconnected from it. The twitter main page doesn't seem interested in explaining what it is or how it works before you create an account, and I'm just not quite that invested yet.
