I thought that the Iowa legislation would rush to the floor like maniacs and throw together an amendment to the state constitution that would knock down gays' rights to marry faster than you could say Jack Robinson. Turns out with a Senate Majority Leader like this, the Iowa Supreme Court ruling may just go unchallenged

They've been talking this way for a long time too. Iowa is an insular, surly, and rural state. They hate outside interference and they make that clear. It also has some of the best public schools in the country, a huge graduation rate and move to college and it funds support to the arts and museums more then many of its neighbors. I'm just saying this is a very progressive state. It is culturally like Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin and has a lot less to do with Kansas an Nebraska.
