Congratulations! That is terribly exciting news! Is the advance enough for you to quit the day job?

I wish! No, not even close,  especially spread out over several years, but it's a nice start. :)

Well hopefully your maternity leave allows you to get a good chunk ahead on your writing and the day job isn't too demanding. Of course the all-consuming job of an infant is omnipresent, but may her sleep schedule steady and she be a child who enjoys naps! (Child #1 hated them, Child #2 did pretty good just laying himself down when tired, hoping #3 takes after #2!)

I'd been planning on going back to work part time before this and now I am so so glad for that. Mat leave has been kind of helpful, but not as much as I expected, because when the baby's asleep I just want to hold her, which is not conducive to writing. But she does nap! Thankfully.
