Mom has a lot of Christmas cactus plants and they've been blooming the last few weeks. I finally got around to take a few shots of them today. :o)

Pretty! None of my five are flowering. They seem to hate me.

Maybe its the snowy/cold weather? Its not nearly as cold here as it is up where you are. These plants have been enjoying some pretty mild weather all season. Mom's usually had good luck with them blooming for her. I think age and size of the plant contribute as well. My little christmas cactus grown from a cutting from on of Mom's big plants hasn't bloomed either...I'm thinking its too small/young.

Have yours ever bloomed before? Or are they just being uncooperative this year?

They've bloomed before. Usually not a lot of flowers but a few. My oldest plant is a clipping from a twenty year old plant. My plant is ten. The youngest I have is five years. I think that my friend mostly killed them when she was looking after them for me in September. We moved them away from the windows and into the living room, where they'll get light from the half moon windows. We'll just have to wait and see. :(

Plants can be pretty resilient, especially succulents. If they survived the initial mistreatment, they'll probably recuperate. :o)
