Strategic Planning Task Force

Okay, if you didn't read an e-mail today from Nancy Dye, you should skim this and see how fucking ridiculous it is.

To the Oberlin Campus Community,

I'm pleased to inform you that on Saturday the Oberlin College Board of
Trustees unanimously adopted the Strategic Plan, which had been passed by
the General Faculty the previous day.

This is a very significant accomplishment for Oberlin College.  The twin
actions by the Faculty and the Board bring to fruition some eighteen months
of work on the strategic plan.  The plan charts a course that will
strengthen Oberlin's academic program and ensure the College's financial
sustainability.

Oberlin's many stakeholders -- faculty, trustees, administrators, students,
and alumni -- have poured countless hours of thought, discussion, and
negotiation into the planning process.  The faculty have brought to bear
their best thinking and markedly improved the plan.  The entire community
is particularly indebted to the Strategic Planning Task Force for its
indefatigable efforts.

No strategic plan is self-executing.  The hard work of implementation lies
ahead.  I am confident that, if the community can muster the same good will
and imagination that characterized the planning process, the plan will
become a living document that will open the door to a bright future for
Oberlin College.  I look forward to working with all of you in that
endeavor.

Sincerely yours,

Nancy S. Dye
President

What the hell is the plan???
