She's scared, afraid no one would believe her, she can't even tell her own mother the truth. Ted is pretty much friends with everyone. We also know how stubborn Buffy can be, she figures if she just ignores him, maybe he'll go away. That's actually common for most rape victims, but she won't be able to think that way for much longer.

Soon as you used Ted, I wondered if this might be happening. Buffy needs help and now she has found someone to help her.

Yeah, Spike will help soon enough. I just couldn't resist having Cordelia revert back to her high school ways, except I think I made her even worse.
