But I can't figure out how to do those snazzy cuts that hide things unless you click on them. Do I need to buy a Dummies Guide to LiveJournal or something? Well, consider yourself warned. What's different now that makes your dad see himself differently? He was obviously a good dad if you still care about him so much - there are many other more "normal" parents that, instead of being thought of with affections, are resented.

As for the LJ cut thing - I always cheat and open a 2nd window with the FAQ page so I can just copy and paste the codes.

You should download a client to do your updates. This one:

has simple steps for the codes so you can do your friends names with the little heads next to them, cuts, and stuff like that. If you need help, let me know.

I'm glad you are doing "real" updates. That's what's great about LJ. You get to know people on a whole new level.
