Aaron took me to Maymont on Sunday so I could do homework sitting under a tree. Maymont is one of those "Richmond" things. They have a Japanese garden which, just like actual gardens in Japan, is trampled all over by people and thus seems much less beautiful than it could be. We sat on a hill next to this fenced off mausoleum thing. While we were sitting there a guy came up over the hill holding a baby and asked us, "Hey, do you want a kid?" We said, "No..."
My parents came over today with my grandma. I found out from her that the statue in the third picture is actually a replica of one called the Three Graces in the State Hermitage Museum in Russia. Maybe I was insensitive to call it a "lesbian statue."
I've been thinking about whether or not I really want to take JLPT Nikkyuu over the past two days. Kara said, "Yes," Tim said "No," a lot of people said, "Do what you want." The reason I'm making such a big deal about this is that I'd be significantly increasing the amount of studying I need to do this semester. As it is I'm already cowering in fear of my two upper level math classes. Since I'm going to apply to JET anyway, I might as well just make sure I graduate, and then take the JLPT after I've been in Japan for a year.
Do you wonder why I always post pictures? Well, because pictures are awesome. And I'm finally making up for all that time in Japan when I didn't have a camera phone...
