誕生日 おめでとう ナタリー

I am 20 now. I had a wonderful brownie cake and dinner at an expensive restaurant. If you can't read Japanese, my cake says, "Happy Birthday Natalie." If you want to be all picky and literal it actually says "Birthday, congratulations, Natalie" but I thought I'd interpret it a little better for the sake of fluency.

After we had a little party with brownies and ice cream, we went to a drag show!

It was at a club called Godfreys, which as I had explained to me is "sort of" a gay bar. There were maybe four drag queens performing on the night we were there. They were very interesting to watch. One of them had what seemed to be real breasts, and another was sort of dressed in office assistant clothing. I wonder what those guys do during the day.

It was interesting how many of the people I met there seemed to magically detect my sexual orientation. I didn't know it was that obvious.

I got to have a drink even though I turned 20 and not 21. A guy we met who I was told works for the local Channel 12 bought me an "orange crush shot." This was a cup of sweet liquid, probably kool-ade or something similar, and a shot glass with orange vodka. You're supposed to drop the shot glass completely into the bigger glass with the kool-ade and then drink it all at once. He told me, "Happy Birthday, honey."
