Oh, Japan.
I have learned lots of things since I started living by myself at the beginning of August.
#1: It's okay to eat directly out of the pan, and to leave apple cores out on the kitchen table for a week.
#2: To become a writer, the main thing I need to do is write.
#3: We are all, in some sense, motivated by the basic human desire to put ourselves in a situation where we will not feel lonely.
I would also like to say here that I agree with the Japanese: patience is something you do, not something you just have. In Japanese, the word for "to be patient" is 我慢する、gaman suru. This literally means "to do patience." I have been doing patience for four and a half months now. It will be nice to touch America again on Friday.
I'm hoping for snow...
